Then, they were suddenly out of synch - it's been suggested that this was to deliberately increase congestion in the city when we were going to have a congestion charge. But I wonder if people can now only get through all the lights by speeding?Frugal Dougalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07459572116047155640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1926775615646909337.post-70828119525572426272010-01-26T17:18:05.120+00:002010-01-26T17:18:05.120+00:00'course, we all know, doesn't matter what ...'course, we all know, doesn't matter what the speed limit sign says, if there's no enforcement. The limit on the street down the middle of my neighborhood is 30, but in rush hour folks avoiding nearby freeways not infrequently do 45, even in the rain - and there are a lot of pedestrians on that street, including schoolkids. Trouble is, the lights are timed so that if folks go that fast, they get all the lights green, and if they go the speed limit, they get them all red. I called the city about it, but either they don't have anyone capable of fixing it, or no one cares. It probably takes a lot of thought and care to set traffic lights correctly, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't hire (pay) folks who could/would have the intelligence/care.Pam H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01223991201236433802noreply@blogger.com
